Minors

Cal Ripken Minors is primarily for players 9 thru 12.  While the emphasis is on development and instruction, it is usually a players first exposure to competitive, organized baseball.  It is "real" baseball in the sense that the kids are responsible for all aspects of the game including pitching and catching.  Games are played against comparable teams in the Macintosh League which includes the towns of Ayer, Shirley, Littleton, Pepperell, Groton, Ashby and Townsend.   

Typical Ages: 9 thru 12

Days: Practices - Tues / Thurs (0-2 per week), Games - Mon-Thurs, Sat, Sun (2-3 per week)

Times: 6:00 pm to 7:45 weekday games and practices, Afternoon/Early evening on weekends

Majors

Cal Ripken Majors is primarily for players 11 and 12.  It represents a fairly skilled level of play and demands a fair amount of commitment from players.  It is more competitive than Minors and players may not receive equal playing time.  Games are played against comparable teams in the Macintosh League which includes the towns of Ayer, Shirley, Littleton, Pepperell, Groton, Ashby and Townsend.   

Typical Ages: 11 and 12

Days: Practices - Mon / Weds (0-2 per week), Games - Mon-Thurs, Sat, Sun (2-3 per week)

Times: 6:00 pm to 7:45 weekday games and practices, Afternoon/Early evening on weekends
